CONFLICT AND PEACEBUILDING IN AFRICA

Course description: This course explores the theoretical and empirical approaches to war and peace in Africa. The main purpose is to introduce students to armed conflicts on the continent and the practical ways of resolving them.

Instructor: Francis Abugbilla
Francis Abugbilla is a lecturer of international studies at the University of Washington. He has lived experiences and knowledge of the root causes of African conflicts and the mechanisms to resolve them. His research focuses on peacebuilding and conflict resolution in post-conflict societies. He holds a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Washington.
