Our team at HAS wants to acknowledge and celebrate the transition of first-generation students into higher education and at UW, and we’ve created an event with Humanities students in mind. First-Generation students who are a declared major or minor in programs connected to a humanities degree program, or are prospective humanities students curious about how to integrate the humanities into their academic experience, are invited to come by our offices in Padelford Hall for an open-house style event, any time from 11:00am-1:00pm on Tuesday, November 8. Students will enjoy free pizza, connect with other first-gen students, meet the HAS staff, and learn about the resources and opportunities the humanities have to offer. Students also receive a free special care package while supplies last.
