Marketing & Communication Work-Study Opportunity at the School of Nursing

The Marketing & Communications team is hiring a Marketing & Communications Student Coordinator through work-study! Attached is the job description.

Nature of Organization

The Marketing and Communications team oversees all marketing and communication efforts across the UW
School of Nursing. It is our mission to drive the school’s strategic priorities with a consistent brand and voice.
We provide marketing and communication support across different units including, but not limited to,
recruitment marketing for undergraduate and graduate programs, fundraising efforts, and much more, all while
implementing strategies that ensure messaging across all platforms is inclusive and anti-racist. The School of
Nursing is committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Student Coordinator to join our team. This is a part-time work-
study position that will provide administrative, marketing, and communications support for the team. Duties and responsibilities may include some or all following tasks:

  • Scheduling social media posts across the main School of Nursing channels and the Continuing Nursing Education channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
  • Constant monitoring and re-sharing of content from peer UW departments and relevant/appropriate nurse content across social media platforms.
  • Assisting in different types of research projects, such as identifying nursing organizations, possible contacts, cost of ad placements, and possible promotion opportunities.
  • Completing data entry as part of the school’s faculty directory re-envisioning.
  • Assist in simple WordPress changes across our websites.
  • Proofread as necessary for internal and external communications (making sure links work and checking basic grammar).
  • Posting updates from internal UW newsletters to shared internal communications SharePoint site.
  • Possible graphic design for small-scale marketing and communication campaigns.

Minimum Qualifications

Work-study eligibility and verification of award amount and period of work-study award required for employment. Knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office Suite and typical productivity software. Demonstrates
attention to detail, project/task follow-through, and dependability. Able to work independently with minimal
supervision desired. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Familiarity with social media
channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter).
