Save the Date for Winter Career Fairs & Learn More About What to Expect

If you’ve never been to one, a job and internship fair can feel mysterious, intimidating, and perhaps even pointless.  We’ve put together some resources to demystify the career fair experience in hopes you’ll give one a chance this quarter.  There are several large fairs in Jan and Feb to choose from…Diversity Career Fair (Jan 24), Winter In-Person Job & Internship Fair (Feb 13), iSchool Fair (Feb 14), Start-Up Fair (Feb 14), Environmental Fair (Feb 15), and the Winter Virtual Job & Internship Fair (Feb 28).

Do employers actually hire students they meet at fairs?  YES!  The majority of participating employers are actively recruiting for internships and full-time roles.

How can I tell which employers are coming?  You can typically view the list of registered employers in Handshake or on the fair’s website.  For example, here is the list of employers registered for the Feb 13th Winter In-Person Job & Internship Center.

What do fairs look like?  How do they work?  You can view photos and read descriptions of in-person fairs here and virtual fairs here.

How should I prepare?  You can attend webinars and workshops on career fair prep strategies or watch recordings of past webinars here.

Still unsure whether to attend?  Meet with a career coach to learn more and to ask whatever questions you may have.
