Undergraduate Researcher Position available
Students in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and related disciplines are welcome to apply.
The researcher will work as part of a team on laboratory and field studies designed to resolve biotic and abiotic controls of greenhouse gas emissions. The individual will isolate microorganisms from the environment and conduct experiments to understand how they interact with each other. The individual will be trained in applications of GC, HPLC, and microsensors to identify environmental variables controlling greenhouse gas production. The candidate must be comfortable working with compressed gasses, needle/septum-based materials handling, data entry and record keeping, have a keen eye for detail, and recognize the importance of experimental replication.
