  1. 2023 – 2024 Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB) application details for sharing:

The Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (GSEE) is accepting applications to serve on our Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB) for the 2023-2024 academic year!

We are looking for graduate students who are seeking leadership opportunities and are passionate about supporting their fellow peers and colleagues. In addition, GSAB members support the planning of graduate student events, panels, and conversations that are relevant and impactful for historically underrepresented graduate students as a whole.

GSEE’s GSAB commits to 2 quarterly meetings, supporting and hosting 2 quarterly “Staying Connected” events and supporting GSEE events through attendance when possible throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

  1. UPCOMING EVENT: GSEE’s Virtual New Student Welcome! This is our annual, virtual summer event that is intended to help incoming historically underrpresented graduate students have a successful transition to UW in Autumn. Please note, this is a separate event from our signature Autumn gathering, Getting Connected.
(GSEE does not have access to updated incoming student listservs until the start of Fall Quarter, so we rely on you, our wonderful colleagues to spread the word to your incoming graduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the meantime!)

The Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (GSEE) will be hosting a virtual New Student Welcome on Wednesday, August 2nd from 1:30-3:00pm PST via ZoomPlease direct incoming graduate students who are historically underrepresented to register via this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gsees-new-student-welcome-2023-tickets-671125172457

Please also note that this virtual New Student Welcome is different from our signature fall quarter in-person event, Getting Connected. GSEE’s New Student Welcome is geared towards new/incoming graduate students to aid in their successful transition to life at the UW. During fall quarter, GSEE hosts Getting Connected as a space for all GSEE students to gather in community, making new connections and/or rekindling older ones.
