Estella C. Williamson
In 2023, Estella C. Williamson, DSW joined HATC as its new Director after 10 years teaching and leading practicum education in various social work programs. Dr. Williamson has taught courses in and served as a guest lecturer of justice informed advanced clinical practice, theory, and practicum education. Estella comes with extensive experience in program development, management, and assessment of health and clinical programs. She has experience in creating quality assurance initiatives that serve to maintain standards of patient care consistent with regulatory and credentialing bodies like, The Joint Commission, NCQA, CDC, and HRSA. Estella has social work practice experience in the areas of child welfare, mental health, substance-related and addictive disorders, maternal health and perinatal care, and HIV clinical and prevention services. Licensed in New York and Washington State, Estella has also maintained a private clinical practice for many years. Her areas of research are in the sexual and mental health of Black women and social work practicum education. Dr. Williamson earned a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
