Biological Information Handling: Essentials for Engineers
This CD is a self-paced, interactive platform to teach biology fundamentals to engineers, as an important curricular supplement to the introductory courses offered by the Biology for Engineers project. The CD has been used in several senior classes in the University of Washington and other educational and research institutions. It has just been selected as 2005 Premier Award for Excellence in Engineering Education Courseware by the National Engineering Education Delivery System (NEEDS).
It is now being reproduced by NEEDS for delivering to numerous educators and researchers in the engineering education community around the world. Previously, the CD won Society for Technical Communication Puget Sound Chapter's Technical Communication Merit Award in 2004. Biological Information Handling multimedia CD was created by Lidstrom HHMI professors project, Lidstrom Laboratory, Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Technical Communication at the University of Washington.
