Monique Mahony

    Clinical Research Coordinator

Monique Mahony is a Clinical Research Coordinator who recently transferred from a sister-lab at UW which is led by Dr. Raphe Bernier. There she honed her skills administering EEG and eye-tracking activities to kids of all ages, and we are lucky enough that she is bringing all of that experience and knowledge with her to the WONDER study. Monique graduated from Georgia State University with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology. She then worked as an ABA therapist in Seattle, which helped her discover her passion for research which focuses on Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has been working in research since 2017. Her favorite part of the WONDER study is how we are able to get such great data in ways that are so easy for babies to participate in.

        Kelsey Dommer

        Clinical Research Coordinator

Kelsey Dommer is a Clinical Research Coordinator and has worked in Dr. Shic’s lab since 2017. She graduated from University of Washington with a BA in Psychology and French and later completed an MS in Psychology Research Methods and Statistics from University of Kent in Canterbury, England. During her undergrad, Kelsey always maintained that the one thing she didn’t want to do after graduating was academic research since she mistakenly thought it was all work with mice in a laboratory. However, after taking her first Developmental Psychology class, she came away unable to stop talking about how “babies are geniuses” who learn an unbelievable amount in a very short timespan. This excitement over early development led her to focus primarily on language development and learning, including studying the times when that process goes differently for certain babies. Her favorite part of the WONDER visits is seeing families so happy to contribute to science and help create a more informed world for future families.

While an undergrad, she gained practical experience working for research labs at school where she worked in both biological and psychological fields. She also volunteered at Seattle Children’s where she assisted in facilitating in the set up of a clinic for teens with ADHD and their families. Her favorite part of WONDER study visits is watching the children’s reactions to our fun EEG videos.
