My research and teaching interests are in the areas of urban and economic geography, political economy, and critical mapping studies.  My research focuses on the relationships between poverty/capability, place, and the production of urban space.  One project is a study of the interventions of Christian activists in local property markets, housing provision, and community development in order to bring about less unjust processes of gentrification in poor neighborhoods in Atlanta (with Katherine Hankins and Steve Holloway).  A second research project concerns the maps/mappings that have shaped the geographies of well-being, opportunity, and mobility in Atlanta.  I am an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of West Georgia.
