Anne Bonds, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Anne Bonds is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with research interests in the areas of feminist and critical race theory, race and racialization, political economy, and critical development studies. Her work is especially concerned with the material and discursive production of gendered and racialized privilege and poverty, particularly through the dynamics of community redevelopment and incarceration. She currently has research projects examining 1) gender, race, and post-incarceration geographies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 2) prison-led rural development and the reproduction of racialized poverty; and 3) non-profit housing provision, neoliberal community development, and the politics of race (with Judith Kenny).
