MYSPACE: ACCOUNT & PRIVACY SETTINGS

Here are some of the general Account and Privacy options you can manage in MySpace!

"General Privacy" settings control who can view your profile -- anyone, only your friends and those 18 or older, or only your friends. There is also a "My Visitors" setting -- a new feature on MySpace -- which allows you to see who is visiting your website. Inversely, it allows those whose websites you are visiting to see that you're visiting their websites. Another notable control is a Block list, where you can block users by clicking "Block User" on their profiles.

"Notifications" control what you receive emails about. By default, you will receive an email for just about everything that happens on your MySpace profile. This means that every time you receive a new message, profile comment, bulletin comment, status comment, friend request, acceptance of friend request, friend suggestion, photo comment, etc. etc. -- the list goes on -- you will receive an email. To change this setting for each individual feature, simply uncheck the respective checkboxes under the "Send Email?" column.

"Spam Presets" controls who is able to send you friend requests and messages. It also controls whether you need to approve comments before they're posted, and whether those who write you need to fill out a CAPTCHA Before writing to you. On the very bottom of this image, you will see a description written by MySpace which defines CAPTCHAs, Comments, and IM Invitations.
