Susie Lee Strikes Again! @PDXArtMuseum

by jcmills on March 6th, 2011

This year, Susie Lee (MFA 2006) has topped receiving the 2010 Stranger Genius Award in Visual Art by being chosen as one of seven winners of the Contemporary Northwest Art Awards at the Portland Art Museum. This select group will be featured in a show at the museum in June 2011, and one of them will be given the Arlene Schnitzer Prize. There were two other School of Art alumni among the 29 finalists for the award: Jaq Chartier (MFA 1994) and Isaac Layman (BFA 2003).

Lee has also been recently appointed as a member of the 4Culture Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC). She and another new PAAC member are replacing two School of Art alumnae who have completed terms:  Mary Ann Peters (MFA 1977) and Jennifer Dixon (MFA 1997). Another School of Art alumna is still on the PAAC: Claudia Fitch (BFA 1975).
