Curator of Native American Art at the Seattle Art Museum, Barbara Brotherton (PhD 1994), gave a sold-out lecture on 03 February 2010 titled “Vampires, Werewolves and Quileute Art”. The lecture introduced Quileute culture and art, partially in preparation for an August 2010 exhibit, and raised questions about media appropriation of Native people. The Quileute have been forced into the media spotlight by the Twilight series of books. [Update on 03 Sep 10: Behind the Scenes: The Real Story of the Quileute Wolves is on display at the Seattle Art Museum until August 2011.]
