Anti-Kickback & Stark Training (Comply Site)

The federal Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) prohibits remuneration intended to induce referrals or purchases of medical services or items covered under a federal healthcare program, or any state healthcare program, that uses any federal monies. AKS training explains why exchanging anything of value in order to induce referrals is prohibitive. By completing this training, individuals are able to:

  • Describe why the AKS statute was passed
  • Identify to whom the AKS statute applies
  • Describe key AKS components including penalties and exceptions
  • Recognize and avoid common AKS noncompliance
  • Identify how the Physician Payment Sunshine Act affects AKS compliance
  • Find answers to compliance questions and report a compliance concern
