All graduation celebrations are student led and supported by staff, faculty, and campus partners. The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity and the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center invites you to join and celebrate the Class of 2025.  These graduation celebration events recognize the success of students and their families, as well as celebrate their multi-identity and multicultural heritage. 

Undocu Graduation Celebration

The Annual Undocu Graduation Celebration event honors the accomplishments and resiliency of Undocu graduating students and their peers. Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 may participate.

Filipino Graduation Celebration

The Filipino Graduation Celebration is an opportunity for any graduate to celebrate their accomplishments amongst friends and family while highlighting the Filipino culture that’s a part of their lives.  Participating graduates receive a cultural stole and are celebrated in an intimate event prior to commencement. Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 may participate.

Latine Graduation Celebration

The 24th Annual Latine Graduation Celebration honors the accomplishments of graduating students and peers in the spirit and traditions of Latine culture. Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 can participate and sign up for the celebration. The graduation celebration will be held at the Meany Hall on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 7:30pm – 10:00pm.

Lavender Graduation Celebration

The University of Washington Q Center has held a Lavender Graduation ceremony since 2002. Lavender Graduation is an annual recognition event conducted on numerous campuses to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students, and their peers, highlighting their achievements and contributions to the University.

Black Graduation Celebration

The Black Graduation Celebration and Kente Ceremony is a pre-commencement celebration to honor African and African American students and peers who through unyielding determination have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from the University of Washington. The ceremony is representative of African and African American culture, embraces the value of community and scholarship, and culminates with a Kente stole presentation.  Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 may participate.

Native Graduation Celebration

šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš (Honor the Journey) is a celebration for families to gather and honor UW American Indian and Alaska Native graduates and peers. We are excited to celebrate the graduating class of 2025 and their accomplishments here at UW while expressing our deepest gratitude. This year, Native Graduation Celebration will be on Friday June 13, 2025 at 6 PM. All graduates will be offered a program and gift, and have an opportunity to address the attendees during the ceremony. Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 may participate.
