| Less that fifty UW print shop employees belong to the Graphic Communications International Union, but local 767 has the longest history of any union on campus. The roots of American labor trace back to the early printers and typographers unions of the late 18th century. So too, the roots of UW unionism trace to the efforts of print shop workers to secure representation. And today, even as the University downsizes its printing services, the members of GCC/IBT Local 767 know how important their union is.
