Humiliation: Both Young and Akira claim that Japanese soldiers raped Chinese women and may have caused other types of humiliation among the general population.

Homicides: Young reports that one of the generals, Iwana, ordered the Japanese soldiers to murder their rape victims because they didn’t want to leave any evidence.

Slavery: According to Young and Akira, the Japanese generals kidnapped some girls to take as their own. Most of the women kidnapped were smart or beautiful women. Young claims that other girls who weren’t considered those types would be transported to other Japanese soldiers as their “Flower Girls” or “Comfort Women.”
