First-Year and Transfer Protégé Application

The Mentor Power for Success invites incoming first-years and transfer students to be part of an inclusive and empowering space that promotes holistic development. Thus, “The Amazing MPFS Race” has been adopted to emphasize the importance of community building and empowerment of both mentors and proteges alike, through individualized and collective approaches. Mentors are expected to help proteges navigate the educational system, network with ECC organizations and alumni, maintain effective and ongoing academic progress, and contribute to efforts in addressing unmet community conditions.

For the Fall Quarter, MPFS will be focused on the following areas: (1) Academic Stability
(2) Professional Development (3) Community Involvement. These three areas of focus will propel the vision forward by incorporating them into the curriculum that will in conjunction bring to light retention issues that the community faces.
