Evidence-Based Programs

In collaboration with community and organizational partners, HPRC has developed and tested nationally recognized programs for health improvement.

Starting as pilot research studies, these evidence-based programs have developed into independent products promoted and managed by community organizations. HPRC continues to provide technical assistance and evaluation of these programs and to study new audiences and applications.

Learn more about:

PEARLS Program
The Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) is a national program for late-life depression. PEARLS brings high quality mental health care into community-based settings that reach vulnerable older adults.

Enhance®Fitness
A low-cost group exercise program for older adults at all levels of fitness. EnhanceFitness is licensed nationally by Sound Generations.

Workplace Wellness
HPRC works with local and national partners to develop, test, and disseminate programs that encourage health-promoting behaviors in the workplace. We particularly emphasize reducing health inequities among ethnic and cultural minorities and low-income populations.

  • Workplace Solutions helps employers adopt evidence-based best practices by assessing their current practices, making recommendations for improvements, and assisting with implementation of health and wellness programs that reduce the risk of chronic disease. Workplace Solutions is now a program of the American Cancer Society.
  • HealthLinks is a version of Workplace Solutions tailored to small businesses. The program aims to increase the wellness of lower-wage employees through evidence-based interventions and onsite implementation assistance. HealthLinks is endorsed by the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association.
