Credentialing Contact: Karen Bowers | Karen.bowers@hcahealthcare.com | (P) 208-455-3858

No less than six weeks prior to the start of the rotation, please contact Karen Bowers to begin onboarding.

Student credentialing and onboarding for clerkships that rotate through West Valley Medical Center are now handled via ClinicianNexus, a web-based platform. The Idaho WWAMI office will add the rotation dates to ClinicianNexus and the West Valley Medical Center team will then approve the rotation and review any onboarding documents within that system.

There is no cost associated with creating an account to use the program.

All scheduling will continue be completed through the UWSOM’s registrar’s office, so you should not be making any changes to or requesting rotations in ClinicianNexus.

This site requires a drug screening which must be completed through the SOM: details on ordering drug screen

PLEASE NOTE: West Valley Medical Center requires a drug screen and in-person alcohol test. Your drug screen should be completed at a UW drug screen site. Please note communication from West Valley may state students are required to submit their drug screening results. You must be drug screened however, students should not send drug screen results to West Valley. The UW SOM will supply West Valley with your drug screen clear date which will satisfy their requirements.

TB Testing

This site may require proof of a negative TB test(s). Even though this is no longer a requirement of the UWSOM, students are required to comply with any site specific TB testing requirements. Please contact the site coordinator to inquire if a TB test is required.

Student Housing

For this required clinical clerkship students will be contacted by the Idaho WWAMI office at idwwami@uw.edu. Students are responsible for confirming whether they WILL or WILL NOT need to stay in the WWAMI medical student housing in a timely fashion. Prior to accessing the housing students are required to complete the necessary paperwork and provide a check for a damage deposit.

The UW SoM WWAMI Student Travel web site is managed by the GoWWAMI team and is the best resource for students who have questions about travel and travel reimbursement.
