Site Description
The WWAMI Wenatchee site provides surgery clerkship administered by Confluence Health (CH). Students will rotate at both Central Washington Hospital and Wenatchee Valley Hospital. Students will rotate among the different surgical specialties including, but not limited to, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Cardiothoracic. Students will spend six weeks in Wenatchee working with individual preceptors. In addition to the online lecture content from UWSOM, didactic sessions are provided on-site as well.
Site Onboarding Tasks
You will receive credentialing forms prior to arrival. Contact the site coordinator if you have not received these 4 weeks prior to your start date. The site requires a Letter of Good Standing and proof of malpractice insurance, which UWSOM will upload to E*Value. Students are responsible for retrieving this from E*Value and submitting to the credentialing contact. Instructions on retrieving LOGS can be found here.
This site requires a drug screening which must be completed through the SOM: details on ordering drug screen
Failure to be fully credentialed in a timely manner could result in this clerkship being cancelled.
Housing
The fully furnished apartment is located at 730 N. Emerson, Wenatchee, WA 98801. Prior to your arrival you will receive your apartment assignment, instructions and directions from the site coordinator.
First Day of Rotation
You will receive instructions where to report and your schedule the week prior to your arrival.
