Astrobiology areas of interest: Exoplanets: Detection, Habitability, & Biosignatures
David is a graduate student in the Astronomy department with an interest in transient phenomena in wide field optical and radio surveys. Some of these transients particularly relevant to astrobiology include planetary engulfments, transits of debris disks, and star-planet interactions due to the magnetic fields of exoplanets. David received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Caltech, and worked for a startup doing machine learning and data visualization before joining the program at UW
