I am a first-year graduate student studying Chemical Oceanography and Astrobiology in Dr. Anitra Ingalls’ marine microbial metabolomics lab. I graduated from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA in May with a B.S. in Chemistry and Marine Science. My past research has focused on the impact of harmful algal blooms on estuarine biogeochemistry, Antarctic zooplankton distributions, and synthesizing crystalline analogs to study the binding of proteins to toxic metals. The focus of my graduate work will be developing a method to measure dissolved metabolites and applying this method to study ocean bacteria. In my free time I enjoy photography, cooking, and training for triathlons.
