Research Areas of Interest: Life in Extreme Environments
I was born and raised in the Seattle area, and returned here after my undergraduate at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. Until recently, I was working in the Biology Department doing RNA-sequencing of fly neuroblasts with Clemens Cabernard. I am very excited to start studying cold- and salt-tolerant marine algae with Jodi Young in Oceanography, since extremophiles have always been my passion.
Outside of the lab, I love knitting, reading, D&D, and fencing, and I volunteer at the Pacific Science Center
