Astrobiology interests include life in extreme environments, Life in Extreme Environments, Origin of Life, Life in the Solar System, Bio-Technologies for Space Exploration, Science Education and Communication

I grew up near Monterey CA and attended the University of California, Los Angeles where I studied Biochemistry. After graduating, I worked as a TA for a biochemistry lab class. This sparked my interest in science education and outreach, which I am pursuing along with more traditional research science.

I will be working with Dr. Sharon Doty’s group on plant-associated microbes–how microbes impact a plant’s ability to survive in its environment and how we as scientists can leverage this knowledge to help plants adapt to a changing climate.

Outside of the lab I like to go on outside adventures like hiking, backpacking, surfing, and camping
