NASA recognized Prof. John Baross for his exceptional achievements in the field of astrobiology, transforming the way we think about how life originated on Earth, and how life could potentially thrive in similar environments beyond Earth. Over his long and impactful career, he published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, and received more than 8,000 citations. Prof. Baross continues to be an active member of the UW Astrobiology Program.
