This week, we had a graduate student workshop at t This week, we had a graduate student workshop at the extreme salt lakes of the Caribou Plateau in British Columbia, Canada! Sebastian Haas and David Catling lead our group through the salt and mud to take measurements of the chemical composition of “Last Chance” and “Good Enough” lakes. These lakes are the most phosphate rich in the world, as far as we know, and present a modern analog for the environment in which life on Earth may have originated. #UWAB💜💚
Do you believe now?? UW Astrobiologist Megan Giall Do you believe now?? UW Astrobiologist Megan Gialluca recently gave a public astrobiology talk at a local brewery for Astronomy on Tap! Let us know if you want to join her fan club 🤩 #UWAB💜
UW had such a large presence at #AbSciCon22 that w UW had such a large presence at #AbSciCon22 that we needed to make a collage! A crowd of grad students, post docs, and faculty from UW Astrobiology traveled to the Astrobiology Science Conference last week which was hosted in Atlanta, GA. There, they were able to share their science, convene sessions, and collaborate to address the biggest questions about life in the universe. UWAB members discussed everything from exoplanet biosignature detection to the origin of life on Earth! #UWAB💜
