Hannah received her PhD in Oceanography and Astrobiology at UW in 2022 before transitioning to a post-doc. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Oceanography with Dr. Jodi Young.
Hannah is interested in the chemical characterization of microbial communities that live in sea ice and polar seawater, focusing on protective organic compounds that could be essential to survival in cold and salty environments.
