We are currently recruiting for Mentors (returning students) and Protégés (new student mentees)! Check out the information below!

Student Mentor

𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 are returning students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) willing to help their first-year mentee (protégé) navigate the UW campus and facilitate their protégé’s academic and holistic development. Mentors in the MPFS program are required to meet with their protégé at least once a week during Fall Quarter, attend the Mentor Training and MPFS Kick-Off during Week 1, and at least 2 other MPFS events.

𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

The Mentor Program offers 1-3 elective credit(s) option to interested and successfully matched Mentors during the participating Autumn quarter. 

𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

-Currently enrolled/continuing UW students with sophomore, junior, or senior standing 

-Good Academic Standing

-Good interpersonal, communication and listening skills

-Ability to empathize and provide academic and personal support to a first-year student or transfer student in the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity

-Familiar with UW resources and OMA&D support services to help students transition successfully at UW

-Desire and interest in helping new students feel welcomed and confident to be a successful Husky!

Protégé

Protégés are new students willing to foster relationships, accept guidance and support, and contribute to the growth of themselves and their mentor. Protégés in the MPFS program are required to meet with their mentor at least once a week during Autumn Quarter, attend the MPFS Kick-Off during Week 1, and at least 2 other MPFS events.
