Registration/Affiliation SAO

The 2024 ECC RSO Affiliation Process will officially begin on August 28, 2024, and end on October 31, 2024. Here is the timeline of events for ECC RSO affiliation:

  • Wednesday, August 28 – ECC RSO Affiliation Interest Form goes live at 9 AM
  • Monday, September 23rd – ECC Staff will start reviewing and processing affiliation requests
  • Monday, October 28th – ECC RSO Affiliation Interest Form will close at 9 AM
  • Thursday, October 31st – End of ECC RSO Affiliation Process

**Please note that the ECC RSO affiliation process only occurs during the fall quarter. If you do not complete the process during the timeline, you must wait until the next academic year.

Benefits RSOs Receive for Affiliating with the Kelly ECC:

  • Leadership development and training programs to enhance the skills of your officers and members
  • Advising from the ECC Staff on program and event planning, facilitation, budgeting, and risk management
  • Priority use of ECC facility for meeting and programming space, including (but does not guarantee) access to kitchens and the patio
    • **Based on space availability
  • Free use of the Leadership Lab, which includes supplies such as butcher paper, colored pencils, markers, paint and paint supplies
  • Free 2-hour weekly meeting space for your RSO
  • Opportunity to request office space in the ECC
  • Advertisement/RSO exposure through the ECC website, building, and email listserv
  • Eligibility to request funding (up to $1,000) for cultural or educational programs/events that enrich the experience of students on campus

Steps to Get Your RSO Affiliated (or Re-Affiliated):

  1. Re/Affiliate your RSO with the Student Activities Office (SAO) through Husky link. All ECC affiliated interested RSOs must be approved and affiliated with SAO prior to completing the ECC Affiliation process.
    • While completing the registration application process you will see an opt in question “Is your RSO interested in re-affiliating, or newly affiliating, with the Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center?”
    • If proceeding with affiliating your RSO click “Yes” then click the link to the “Kelly ECC Affiliation Interest Form”
      Follow the steps to complete SAO’s affiliation process by visiting the following links:

  2. While in the process of being affiliated with SAO, RSOs may complete the ECC affiliation process at the same time. Please complete the ECC RSO Affiliation Interest form to get started. Your RSO will receive a confirmation email of your submission within 3-5 business days.
  3. Plan ahead! The Kelly ECC will be hosting in-person training & orientation sessions & “Finance 101” RSO workshop for all interested newly and previously affiliated RSOs
    • Your RSO must have at least one person attend ONE of the available training & orientation sessions (we highly encourage more than one person from your RSO to attend to understand all the resources ECC has to offer!)
      • The available T&O dates/times/locations are:
        • Monday, September 30th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre (across the street from ECC – red building, wooden door)
        • Monday, October 7th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Monday, October 14th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Monday, October 21st – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Monday, October 28th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
    • Your RSO must have at least one person attend ONE of the available Finance 101 RSO Workshops (You may send a representative that oversees finances on behalf of your RSO)
      • The available Finance 101 workshop dates/times/locations are:
        • Wednesday, October 2nd – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Wednesday, October 9th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Wednesday, October 16th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Wednesday, October 23rd – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
        • Wednesday, October 30th – 4:00-5:00 PM in the ECC Theatre
  4. Once completed the above steps, your RSO will receive a confirmation email from eccadvs@uw.edu of your ECC RSO affiliation status

Once you have completed registration and the affiliation form you will receive a follow up email from eccadvs@uw.edu. We will give you a status update once you are approved for registration with SAO.

FAQs

  • Where do I start?
    • Visit the SAO website and sign up for a RSO registration session. 
  • Does filling out the interest form guarantee affiliation status with the ECC?
    • No. Filling and submitting an interest form does NOT guarantee your RSO to be affiliated with the Kelly ECC. Follow the steps above to complete your affiliation process. A confirmation email is sent to all RSOs who complete the affiliation process.
  • When does affiliation close? 
    • Affiliation closes on October 31st 
  • When will I hear back about my RSO’s affiliation status? 
    • Approvals are sent within 2 weeks of form submission. 
  • Can I affiliate winter quarter or spring quarter? 
    • No, we only accept affiliation requests during autumn registration season. 
  • When does my Kelly ECC Affiliation end or expire? 
    • At the end of the following years fall registration/affiliation. If we have not received your affiliation form and approved RSO registration from SAO we unfortunately remove affiliation benefits.
