Registration/Affiliation SAO

Benefits RSOs Receive for Affiliating with the Kelly ECC:

  • Leadership development and training programs to enhance the skills of your officers and members
  • Advising from the ECC Staff on program and event planning, facilitation, budgeting, and risk management
  • Priority use of ECC facility for meeting and programming space, including access to kitchens, the backyard, and the BBQ pit area
  • Free use of the Leadership Lab which includes: a number of resources accessible to your organization
  • Free weekly meeting space for your RSO
  • Free use of newly renovated space, Leadership Conference room
  • Opportunity to request office space in the ECC
  • Free advertisement/exposure through the ECC website and email listserv
  • Eligibility to request funding (up to $1,000) for cultural or educational programs/events that enrich the experience of students on campus
  • Mailing list access for recruitment and advertising purposes

Steps to Get Your RSO Affiliated (or Re-Affiliated):

  1. Complete Student Activities Office (SAO) RSO Affiliation interest form through Husky Link
    • For additional information on the registration process please visit the SAO website https://hub.washington.edu/get-involved/sao/rso-registration/
    • While completing the registration application process you will see an opt in question “Is your RSO interested in re-affiliating, or newly affiliating, with the Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center?”
    • If proceeding with affiliating your RSO click “Yes” then click the link to the “Kelly ECC Affiliation Interest Form” 
  2. Complete the “Kelly ECC Affiliation Interest Form”
  3. Complete the Training & Orientation Google Form (a link will be communicated to RSOs)
  4. Wait for confirmation approval email

Once you have completed registration and the affiliation form you will receive a follow up email from eccadvs@uw.edu. We will give you a status update once you are approved for registration with SAO.

FAQs

  • Where do I start?
    • Visit the SAO website and sign up for a RSO registration session. 
  • Does registration count as affiliation? 
    • No, registration is the required process for being recognized as a Registered Student Organization on campus. Affiliation is a separate form included in SAO registration process as an opt in. 
  • When does affiliation close? 
    • Affiliation closes on October 31st 
  • When will I hear back about my RSO’s affiliation status? 
    • Approvals are sent within 2 weeks of form submission. 
  • Can I affiliate winter quarter or spring quarter? 
    • No, we only accept affiliation requests during autumn registration season. 
  • When does my Kelly ECC Affiliation end or expire? 
    • At the end of the following years fall registration/affiliation. If we have not received your affiliation form and approved RSO registration from SAO we unfortunately remove affiliation benefits.
