TEEN PREGNANCY: OVERVIEW
The United States still has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world. Our rate is twice as high as in England or in Canada and eight times as high as the Netherlands or Japan according the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. This section encourages teens to take a second look at the issue of teen pregnancy and the impact it can have on both the female as well as the male. Teens are encouraged to deconstruct some of the media messages about pregnancy as they apply to the real life issues of pregnancy and parenting.
