At the UW ADRC, we are committed to the study of dementia and the pursuit of innovations that might improve the lives of people with Alzheimer’s disease and their family members. Our projects approach this goal by combining cutting-edge technology and world-class clinical expertise with our past discoveries and twenty-year legacy of conducting safe, rigorous research. More particularly, our projects focus on improving biomarker technology, which we believe could help us detect and respond to dementia earlier in life, and developing new therapies for treating dementia. These projects rely on the clinical information we gather from ADRC registry research participants at annual follow-up visits and lumbar punctures. We trust that that our dedication to research will help people ask better questions about Alzheimer’s disease and to potentially provide answers to those questions.
