Filipino Graduation

The Filipino Graduation Celebration is an opportunity for graduates to celebrate their accomplishments amongst friends and family while highlighting the Filipino culture that’s a part of their lives. Participating graduates receive a cultural stole and are celebrated in an intimate event prior to commencement.

Latine Graduation
The 23rd Annual Latine Graduation Celebration honors the accomplishments of Chicanx and Latinx graduating students in the spirit and traditions of Latine culture. Students can participate in a digital yearbook and sign up for a Graduation Ceremony. The graduation celebration will be held at the Meany Hall on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 7:30pm – 10:00pm.

Black Graduation

Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion
The celebration will be held Sunday, June 2nd at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Ed, 7-9:30pm. Doors open at 6:15PM. The Black Graduation and Kente Ceremony is a pre-commencement celebration to honor African and African American students who through unyielding determination have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from the University of Washington. The ceremony is representative of African and African American culture, embraces the value of community and scholarship, and culminates with a Kente stole presentation. This is a celebration for graduates to be recognized for their accomplishments and provided an opportunity to honor significant people who have helped them achieve their goal. Students are honored together in one setting and their families also get the opportunity to celebrate their hard work and dedication.

Native Graduation
šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš (Honor the Journey) is a celebration for our American Indian and Alaska Native families to gather and honor UW graduates. We are excited to celebrate the graduating class of 2024 and their accomplishments here at UW while expressing our deepest gratitude. This year, Native Graduation will be on Friday June 7, 2024 at 6 PM. All graduates will be offered a program and gift, and have an opportunity to address the attendees during the ceremony.
