About šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš

šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš (Honor The Journey), formerly known as Ravensfeast, is held annually by the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity with sponsorship from campus partners including the Center for American Indian & Indigenous Studies (CAIIS), the American Indian Studies Department, wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House,  and the UW Alumni Association Multicultural Alumni Partnership.

When and where is the 2024 šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš?

This year it will be held on Friday, June 7, at 6:00PM in wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House

Who can participate?

Any UW student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2024, Summer 2024 or Fall 2024.

Where do I park?

Guests are encouraged to park in Central Garage or Padelford parking garage, visit here for more visitor parking information.

How much does it cost to participate?

Participation is FREE, for graduating students and their families, but there is limited seating so sign up as soon as possible.

How do I register?

How early do I need to check-in for šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš?

Check-in time will begin approximately 1 hour before the event. You must be present at least 30 minutes before the event begins in order to participate.

Is this ceremony accessible to attendees with disabilities?

What do I wear?

Whatever you are comfortable wearing, including cultural regalia or academic regalia (cap & gown) for this event.

How do I get a graduation gift?

The graduation gift is from the graduation committee to the graduating students who have registered for the 2024 šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš, you must be present for the ceremony to receive the gift.

What happens if I don’t register in time?

We have limited seating, therefore we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Who plans the graduation?

The Celebration is funded by the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, The Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, CAIIS, The American Indian Studies Department, and wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House, in partnership with the UW Alumni Association Multicultural Alumni Partnership. The ceremony is planned by Kelly ECC staff, wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House Staff, and more American Indian/Alaskan Native Staff and Faculty across campus.

Can I attend šǝqǝd tiiɫ slǝʔibǝš AND my own school’s graduation?

Absolutely, As long as it is not happening at the same time.
