The Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, The Purple Group and Leadership Without Borders along with its partners is proud to announce the Annual Undocu Graduation Ceremony.  The event  honors the accomplishments and resiliency of Undocu graduating students.

The Undocu Graduation Celebration was created by students in partnership with the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, Purple Group, Leadership Without Borders and its constituents.

When and where is the 2024 Annual Undocu Graduation?

This year it will be held on Friday, May 24, from 5:00PM to 7:30PM in The Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center Unity Suite.

Who can participate?

Any UW Seattle campus student (undergraduate or graduate/doctoral candidate) completing a degree in Spring 2024, Summer 2024 or Fall 2024.

How many guests can I bring?

There is no priority seating, your family can sit together, on a first come first serve basis. Children, 2 years and older, will require their own seat; children under 2 years of age, may sit in the lap of an adult.  Graduating students will be seated  at the front.

Where do I park?

Guests are encouraged to park in Central Garage, visit here for more visitor parking information.

How much does it cost to participate?

Participation is FREE for graduating students and their families.

How do I register?

Registration opens soon and will close as soon as we reach capacity.

How early do I need to check-in for the Undocu Graduation?

Check-in time will begin approximately 30 minutes before the event. You must be present at least 30 minutes before the event begins in order to participate.

How do I submit my picture for the Graduation presentation?

The picture submission is included in the main RSVP form. Link coming soon!

What do I wear?

We encourage you to wear your academic regalia (cap & gown) for this event.

How do I get an ethnic sash/stole?

The stole/sash is a gift from the graduation committee to the graduating students who have registered for the 2024 Undocu Graduation Celebration, you must be present the day of the graduation to receive it.

What happens if I don’t register in time? Is there a waiting list?

We will keep a waiting list however we cannot guarantee you will get an open seat.

Who plans the graduation?

The Celebration is funded by the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, The Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, Purple Group, in partnership with the UW Alumni Association Multicultural Alumni Partnership. The ceremony is planned by Leadership Without Borders staff and the Purple Group graduation committee; faculty, staff and students.

Can I attend the Undocu Graduation AND my own school’s graduation?

Absolutely, As long as it is not happening at the same time.
