Nam Phuong Nguyen, PhD, is the operations manager for the UW ADRC and the Rural Brain Initiative. She obtained her PhD from the University of Washington where she performed research in the Nance Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research focused on characterizing and investigating the role of biologically derived nanoparticles in neonatal ischemia models. She has 10 years of experience in experimental research, with a focus on developing tools and platforms to study the brain. Due to her background as a first generation student, Nam is committed to advancing healthcare access and medical research to under resourced communities. Prior to her PhD, Nam Phuong obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Materials Science & Engineering at Stanford University and the University of Washington.
