Support the UW ADRC

The UW Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund helps faculty pursue promising research studies and clinical trials within the center. Your philanthropic support is essential to our continued efforts to find better treatments and prevention strategies for Alzheimer's disease. Donations help support the training of tomorrow’s physicians and researchers. And by giving — perhaps in gratitude for care, or in memory of a loved one — you can help improve the lives of your friends, your family, and your region.

A Leader in Research

As one of the nation’s first federally funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers (ADRCs), the UW ADRC has been pushing the limits of what is scientifically possible to find new approaches to treating Alzheimer’s disease for the past 40 years.

Now, we are witnessing the greatest period of advancement in Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment in history — and UW Medicine is leading the way.

  • Our investigators are leaders in the basic biology of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
  • We can now test for biological evidence of Alzheimer’s disease and make earlier diagnoses.
  • We were one of the first clinics in the country to offer the first disease-modifying class of medications, including lecanemab and donanemab, that can actually slow disease progression. In the next few years, we will likely be treating Alzheimer’s disease with multiple drugs and therapies that not only slow disease progression but may also heal neurological damage.

With federal funding cuts, all of this progress is in jeopardy. Now is the time to come together and ensure a strong, reliable foundation of support will keep these first-of-their-kind advances moving forward in perpetuity, without being at the whim of political administrations.

This Is Our Moment — And Yours

Your support directly fuels these life-changing studies, leading to more options and better outcomes for patients and their loved ones. With committed support from our generous community of donors, we can make sure we don’t lose momentum and that our groundbreaking work can keep making progress, regardless of changes in federal funding.

Join us in pursuing bold ideas and working toward a brighter future where the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease are fully preventable.
