Listing serial ports:

In windows, check the device manager for a "USB serial" device. It will never be COM1 or COM2.

On all platforms you may run python -m serial.tools.list_ports to list serial ports found by the python serial module. This is not an exhaustive list and may include ports that don't actually exist but it's a good place to start. On linux and macOS, the correct port probably has USB in the name.
