Remembering George M. Martin, MD, UW ADRC’s Founding Director

The ADRC leadership is saddened to share the news that George M. Martin, MD, Professor Emeritus, UW Laboratory Medicine & Pathology, passed away on December 17 at the age of 95. At the UW, where he has been a faculty member since 1957, he devoted his career to the development of genetic approaches to the study of aging and age-related diseases.

Thomas J. Grabowski appointed to Endowed Professorship for Brain Health Innovations

Thomas J. Grabowski, MD, MBWC Director, has been named the inaugural holder of the Tim B. Engle Endowed Professorship for Brain Health Innovations supported by the Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions. In this role, Dr. Grabowski will help support the Institute’s efforts in the area of cognitive aging. This work will focus on strategies to promote brain wellness and resilience across the lifespan and to delay the effects of brain aging and degenerative brain diseases.
