Daisy Diaz

I am a 2nd-year student at the University of Washington going into my third year and hoping to pursue a degree in Public Health-Global Health and get certified as a medical assistant after graduating from UW. I am a first-generation student and the first to attend a major university. During my free, I like to spend time with my family and friends, attend kpop concerts, travel, and go on random boba runs.


Karina Gonzalez

Karina Gonzalez is a third-year student majoring in mathematics with a minor in chemistry. She is from East Wenatchee, WA and was part of Cohort 11. For the past two summers she has worked in a preschool caring for children from migrant farm-working families. She is very excited to assist her mentees. Karina is passionate about education, boba, nature walks, gym cardio, and growing her earrings collection.

Araceli Calvario

Araceli Calvario is a junior at the UW, and was apart of cohort 11. She is majoring in Social Welfare. Her dream is to one day be able to go back to her hometown of Yakima, WA and serve children/teenagers from underprivileged backgrounds. She is also a Mexican first-generation student who was raised by a migrant single mother. After finishing undergrad, she wants to attend graduate school. On her free time, she enjoys exploring Seattle, shopping, and trying new boba shops!


Carlos Pacheco

Carlos Pacheco is a second-year student at UW who is pursuing a degree in Education to become a teacher. He is a first-generation student who was a part of Cohort 12 and is from Sunnyside, Washington. GO GRIZZ!! He hopes to become a role model for his younger siblings and future students. He loves to listen to music, watch sports, and explore the city. One of his dreams is to travel the world; especially to Rio de Janeiro.


Odalys Herrera 

I am a first generation student from Wapato, Washington. I am majoring in Education, Communities, and Organizations and also plan on majoring in Business Administration. I like to try new things, especially food, and I like to explore new areas. I am passionate about helping others succeed and I cannot wait to help new students!

Daniel Martinez 

I’m currently a first year student and was a part of CAMP cohort 12. I am from Toppenish, WA in the Yakima Valley. I currently attend the Michael G. Foster School of Business concentrating in Finance. In my free time I like exploring the city and also enjoy watching movies. Goals after graduation is to hopefully travel the world.

Alicia Ruiz

Alicia is a second-year first-generation student at the University of Washington intending to major in Social Welfare with a minor in Spanish. She is a part of Cohort 12 and super excited to work with her mentees! Alicia is passionate about mental health and hopes to become a mental health counselor to give back to her hometown, Yakima, Washington, after graduating school. In her free time she loves to journal, listen to music, and discover amazing food spots in Seattle.

Wendy Sanchez Garcia

I am currently a first-year student at the University of Washington, pursuing a degree in Biology with a minor in Bioethics. I am a first-generation college student from Kennewick, WA and a part of CAMP Cohort 12. I loved being a part of the CAMP team and am excited to have the opportunity to work with incoming members! In my free time I like to explore the city, find new coffee shops, and watch new Netflix shows!

Antonio ‘Tony’ Meza 

I’m a second year at UW pursuing my degree in Construction Management where I hope to possibly be in charge of my own construction business. I’m also a first generation student coming out of the Yakima Valley (Sunnyside, WA). I love to go to the IMA, cook, listen to music, and go out and explore Seattle any chance I get.

Ahtziri Guzman

Ahtziri Guzman is currently a sophomore intending to double major in Mathematics and Gender, Women, & Sexuality Studies. She’s from Moses Lake, where her dog and parents currently reside. She hopes to one day become a high school math teacher and a basketball coach. In her free time she likes to watch Marvel movies and hang out with friends, drink coffee and craft some art pieces.


Karen Steisi Ocampo 

My family is from Oaxaca, Mexico, and I am Mexican-American. I was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, where I attended A.C. Davis High School. I’m in Cohort 12 and majoring in Education, Communities, and Organizations with a minor in Diversity. I played the violin for two years, the cello for nearly eight, and am now learning to play the piano. I enjoy writing, reading, anime, and music as interests. And an interesting fact about me is that I like collecting teacups!
