How to Join

UW TRIO SSS Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or US permanent legal resident
  • Must have at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
    • Low-Income (based on Federal Guidelines)
    • First Generation (neither one of your natural or adoptive parents have a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year University)
    • Verifiable Physical or Learning Disability (currently registered with the Disability Resources for Students (DRS) Office)
  • Must have an academic need

TRIO SSS Application Process

We affiliate students all year long through an intake appointment! So if you are not an incoming freshman or transfer student, please schedule an appointment to meet with one of our academic advisers, to answer all of your affiliation questions! Please call the front desk (206) 543-7132 and/or email to schedule an appointment with a TRIO adviser:

For incoming freshman and transfer students, you will attend Advising & Orientation (A&O) required of all first-year undergraduate students, where you will begin to learn about academic progress, student life and extracurricular opportunities. At A&O, you will meet with one of our TRIO SSS Academic Advisers. For more information, check out First-Year Program (FYP)’s Orientation Page!


During your meeting with our advisers, you will be filling out the following required Documentation:

  1. Intake Form
  2. Income Verification Form

Both forms will be covered in our TRIO Application and shared during your meeting with a TRIO Academic Adviser.
