Through Our Eyes: Inclusive Design as Visually Impaired Users

Bio

Angela is a graphic and interaction designer who values a user-centered approach. Angela began her academic studies with her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She focused on learning and understanding other peoples’ behaviors and processes. She continued her education by receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. She then worked for a publishing company where she created print and product designs. Angela knew she wanted to attend graduate school to combine her psychology and design backgrounds.

At the University of Washington, Angela’s research has focused on inclusive design. She works to increase education and awareness of visually impaired users. For her thesis project, she has created a set of persona activity cards and a toolkit for designers. The toolkit provides assets and guidelines to be used throughout the design process. Angela looks forward to applying her research throughout her design career.
