Dr. Dedra Buchwald to lead new Center for Alzheimer’s Research in Native People

November 06, 2018 — The NIA recently funded a center to advance research on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in Native populations. To address health disparities, the new center will recruit and mentor junior and midlevel scientists interested in pursuing research on Alzheimer’s disease in Native populations, with a special focus on investigators and others from underrepresented minority groups. The project will be a collaboration between WSU/UW ADRC, UC Denver, and Stanford..

Eureka prize: The Improving Care for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Using Technology (iCare-AD/ADRD) Challenge.

October 10, 2018 — This Eureka prize competition seeks to spur the development of technology applications to improve dementia care coordination and/or care navigation, as part of the implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act. Up to $400,000 in cash prizes may be awarded to teams or individuals that participate in the challenge. A webinar will be held on October 17, 2018 at 11:30 AM Pacific Time.
