Call for applications for the 2022-2023 New Investigator Awards from NACC. Letter of Intent due December 17, 2021!

November 19, 2021 — New Investigator Awards are open to all ADRC-affiliated researchers. This funding opportunity was developed to support new and early-career investigators, as they further their career development in Alzheimer's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) research. NACC has extended the deadline for the New Investigator Awards Letter of Intent until December 17, 2021! The full application is still due January 21st.

Notice of Special Interest: Administrative Supplements for NIA-VA Mentored Physician-Scientist Award in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (AD/ADRD)

Francis Collins to step down as director of the National Institutes of Health

October 05, 2021 — Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., today announced his decision to end his tenure as the director of the National Institutes of Health by the end of the year. Dr. Collins is the longest serving presidentially appointed NIH director, having served three U.S. presidents over more than 12 years. During his tenure, Alzheimer’s and dementia research funding at the NIH grew from less than $450 million to $3.2 billion.
