“The World University Rankings”, using data provided by Thomson Reuters, ranked the UW 25th among universities world-wide. Among U.S. public institutions, UW ranked 5th in this study.


Wow! That’s a Big Magnet

The 3-ton, 800 MHz magnet arrived in Bagley Hall recently for installation. Careful planning was needed to ensure movement and placement of the magnet went smoothly.

Larry Dalton wins 2011 Linus Pauling Award

The ACS Oregon, Portland, and Puget Sound Sections have named Larry R. Dalton the recipient of the 2011 Linus Pauling Award. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in chemistry comparable to that of its namesake and first winner, Linus Pauling.
