Gojko Lalic to join faculty as Assistant Professor
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gojko Lalic to the UW. Dr. Lalic is an expert in the field of organic synthesis, particularly in the areas of enantioselective synthesis and metal-catalyzed reactions. He has worked in four premier laboratories, two led by Nobel Laureates. Dr. Lalic performed undergraduate research with the late Professor Derek Barton at Texas A&M University, and later earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2004 under the direction of Professor Matthew Shair. After two years as a postdoctoral research associate with Professor Robert Bergman at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Lalic returned to Harvard to work with Professor E. J. Corey.
Dr. Lalic will begin his research program here in July, focusing on the development and detailed study of new transition metal-catalyzed transformations that will find application in organic synthesis. For more information, please visit his faculty page or contact him directly at lalic@chem.washington.edu.
