Bo Zhang to join faculty as Assistant Professor
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Bo Zhang to the UW. Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2006 under the direction of Professor Henry White, with whom he invented the nanopore electrode and the nanopore membrane. These are both excellent platforms from which to study molecular transport at the nanometer-scale. Dr. Zhang is currently a postdoctoral research associate with Professor Andy Ewing at The Pennsylvania State University, where he is developing electrochemical arrays and nanometer-sized electrodes to measure and image secretions from single neuronal cells in culture.
Dr. Zhang will begin his research program here in June in the area of the development and bioanalytical applications of nanometer-scale materials and devices. For more information about his research program, please visit his faculty page or contact him directly at zhang@chem.washington.edu.
