Users are strongly reminded that,  it is best to avoid the temptation of rebooting the computer,  when they ‘think’ that that will remedy a given situation.   The requirement to reboot a computer to take care of any issue is quite rare and any problems that are faced by users require much simpler measures such as restarting the login session.  But hitting the power switch abruptly  leads to more problems including the FTP server hanging up for a substantial time.   Always leave the computer issues to the facility staff and do not attempt anything on your own.
