AV301 : UPDATE – SYSTEM USABLE BUT WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH SHIMS

A damaged insert glass had caused problems leading to (a) in-correct sample landing (b) difficulty in shimming.   The broken glass itself makes shimming difficult but this problem is exacerbated greatly if the sample doesn’t land fully.   Users are reminded that before you go 60 mph,  make sure that the sample ‘Down’ button is lit up green.  If there is incorrect sample landing,  that will light up ‘Missing’ LED in orange color on the BSMS keyboard (both physical and virtual).    As to the ‘wobb’ problem reported by some users,  the most probable explanation is that users have been turning the Tune and Match knobs of 13C instead of 1H.

System is released for use but we do have to reshim the probe at higher orders to get the best line shape and resolution.
